Omaha Christmas guide

By the Frosty Nights team at Falconwood Park. Updated November 2026.

Omaha, NE has more Christmas lights than one night can cover. Some are drive-thru, some are walk-through, and a lot of the best ones are free. This guide sorts the 2026 season by type so you can pick the right night for your crew.

Dates and hours below come from each display’s own site or published 2026 listings as of early November. Check before you go, since weather closures happen.

Walk-through Christmas lights in Omaha

Drive-thru displays are great when it’s 10 degrees out. But if you want the kids to actually get out, meet Santa, skate, and grab a cocoa, you need a walk-through village. There is only one full-scale one in the metro.

Walk-through Christmas lights at Falconwood Frosty Nights in Bellevue, NE

80 acres of lights you walk through, not drive past. The route winds through a 150-foot tunnel of lights and an LED cherry tree forest, then opens into a Christmas village with 20 heated shopping cabins, food trucks, and Hanke Hall, a 10,000 square foot lodge with fireplaces inside and out where Santa sets up. Ice skating on an iceless rink, snowless sledding, an inner tube slide, a Christmas maze, and the Holly Jolly Trolley are all included with admission. The village also has 20 heated cabins for Christmas shopping. Live reindeer visit Dec 16 to 20, and the 21+ Santa Rave runs Saturday, Dec 12 after 10 PM.

Both are ticketed and focus on lights rather than activities.

Tips for seeing Christmas lights in Omaha

  • Go early in the season. The week after Thanksgiving through Dec 10 has the shortest lines everywhere. The two weekends before Christmas are the busiest.
  • Weeknights beat weekends. Frosty Nights adds Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday nights in December, and the drive-thrus have real lines on Friday and Saturday.
  • Dress for standing still. Walk-through displays mean 90 minutes outside. Boots, hats, and hand warmers. Frosty Nights has firepits and the heated hall if you need to thaw.
  • Check the FM station before you leave. Most synced displays only make sense with the music.
  • Looking for more than lights? See our Omaha Christmas events 2026 calendar for markets, Santa visits, shows, and tree lightings by date.
  • Stack two in one night. Bellevue works well: Christmas with the Haro’s or Wood River Drive first, then Frosty Nights for the rest of the evening.
